An Ice Cream Truck Can be Your Passport to a Regular Income

Your ice cream truck has to be visible in order for you to be able to attract customers.  It also has to be easily visible to allow motorists a good chance of seeing it from a distance and being prepared for people (especially children) dashing out from behind the truck.

There are many high profile designs available in bright colors like pink, yellow, red and white. Your ice cream truck can also be a combination of colors to help you "brand" it and help to make it become instantly recognizable with the tasty ice cream that you are selling. A common feature found on the signage of an ice cream truck is a large warning sign, normally written on the back of the truck. This is particularly important if you are taking your business to other places apart from a fairground or festival site.

The warning signage used has to be bold and bright, and it is used to warn people that children will be close to your truck.  In addition to the warning signs, it is always a good idea to have a sound that is activated when the vehicle is about to reverse.

Due to the size of an ice cream truck,  there will undoubtedly be a "blind spot" and, when reversing, you have to give anybody near the truck ample warning that it is about to reverse. You cannot be too careful when children are your main customers.

The inside of your truck has to be able to be quickly accessible for the purchase of ice cream or any other cold items being sold. The side serving hatches should be able to be quickly opened, marking your ice cream business "open for business." Now you can start to sell your ice cream!

It is important to ensure that all equipment used to make and serve the ice cream is sterilized and meets whatever health and safety  regulations apply to your area of the country.

To make the business effective you have to be efficient with the way you work, and a good vendor will have his truck equipped with a working washbasin with hot and cold running water. There will also need to be some cupboard space and adequate shelving for storage of items, which means that when the ice cream vehicle is ready to start serving its customers, everything you need is nearby.  By having the interior layout arranged for maximum efficiency, it means that the owner of the truck will be able to cater for quick turn-round for each customer, making it possible to achieve higher volume targets, which will impact on the profitability of the business.

Exterior lighting should also be considered for the ice cream truck if it will be sited on a fairground or at a festival site, which involves evening working. In addition to this, it is a good idea to consider kitting your truck out with a good sound system; this will give your ice cream business a personalized feel, and help to attract more customers to your truck.
