Believe it or not, but the Ice Cream Diet has been turning a lot of heads, lately, and for a lot of reasons, too. Prevention magazine did an article about it, and the Ice Cream Diet’s creator flatly states that it’s possible to lose weight, get healthier, and eat ice cream every day. We really wanted to know what was up with this diet, and we found out; so keep reading to hear our review of the Ice Cream Diet.
The fact is that you’re supposed to eat a daily diet that is, in effect, low in calories despite being able, and encourated, to eat ice cream – every day. The plan includes daily eating of lean meat, fresh fruits and vegetables plus your daily allowance of ice cream. The reason there’s ice cream factored into it is that you are given a reward, each day, for sticking to your diet. Beyond this, however, ice cream actually has some nutritional value. Ice cream, obviously, has dairy/milk in it – so there is some calcium plus a little protein. Because of that, the Ice Cream Diet has a little bit of an advantage of many low cal diets on the market. There you go – the purpose of the ice cream in the Ice Cream Diet.
One benefit of the Ice Cream Diet is that it supplies you with a regular source of calcium, which is very important for your health, as well as your weight loss goals. The extra calcium will be an aid to weight loss because it’s easier to lose when you have enough calcium in your system.
There are a lot of people who don’t like dairy products, and if they start limiting their caloric intake, then they’re setting themselves up for calcium deficiency as well as other important nutrients. Additionally, the Ice Cream Diet book discusses why you really want to get your calcium from eating good foods rather than becoming dependent on supplements.
Because there isn’t enough sceintific evidence, no one really knows if this diet really works. The fact is, this is a relatively new diet, and there are quite a few people who claim to have lost weight while using it. Advocates claim that the Ice Cream Diet is really effective. So if you decide to try this diet for yourself, you have to see for yourself if it works for you. In summary, the Ice Cream Diet can be a workable weight loss plan, but only if you stay within the caloric restrictions it gives you. This diet really is an old-fashioned approach to weight loss when you think about. So, finally, no… this isn’t magical weight loss ice cream – we wish it was!
