The Quick And Easy Way To Make Banana Ice Cream In less Than 10 Minutes

in Ice-cream

The top three most popular ice cream flavors in the world are vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. However, you don't commonly see banana ice cream in the shops, and that is because it just doesn't taste right unless you use real bananas in the mixture. Homemade banana ice cream, made with real bananas is delicious and very simple to make. So if you feel like a change from the usual chocolate or vanilla, you should take a look at this easy recipe.

The Biggest Mistake People Make

When making fruit flavored ice cream, most people make a big mistake; they forget to sweeten their fruit. The fact is that most fruit is not sweet enough for ice cream, and they need further sweetening before they can be added to the mixture. Bananas, on the other hand, are the only fruit which doesn't require any further sweetening. They can go straight into the mixture which makes our life much easier, and means that it is one of the simplest flavors of ice cream to make at home.

The Secret To Great Banana Ice Cream

The secret is to use bananas that are over-ripe, with plenty of dark spots on the skin. All you'll need for this recipe is 2 cups of heavy cream, 1 cup of milk, 1.75oz of caster sugar, and 2 over-ripe bananas.

The Recipe

First of all, take the bananas and get rid of the skin. Put them on a plate, and use a fork to mash them together. It won't take long until you have a thick banana pulp (perfect for delicious ice cream).

Pour the cream, milk and sugar into a large mixing bowl and whisk until the sugar is dissolved. Next add the banana pulp, and continue to whisk until it is thoroughly stirred in.

That's the mixture prepared (I told you it would be easy)! However, there is one last and very important step that a lot of people forget. You need to put your mixture in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes. The colder it is when we start to make the ice cream, the better.

When the mixture is cold enough, grab your ice cream maker and turn it on before pouring in the mixture slowly. It's very important to make sure that the machine is on before pouring in the mixture, otherwise the paddle can get stuck. Depending on the machine you're using, your banana ice cream will be ready in just 30 minutes!
